Wash: First, thoroughly wash the sea buckthorn berries.
Cook: Next, place them in a pot with the water and start cooking over medium heat.
Soften: Then, after 10 to 15 minutes, the berries will soften and release their juice.
Strain: After that, strain the mixture (for example, through a sieve) so the seeds and skins do not end up in the jam.
Sweeten: Once strained, add the sugar and lemon juice, then cook for another 10 to 15 minutes until it thickens.
Jar it: Finally, pour it hot into sterilized jars, seal them, then turn them upside down for 5 minutes.
If you would like to make it even more special, you can also add a bit of orange zest or ginger.
If you use less sugar, keep it refrigerated and consume it sooner.
